Who we are
Capstack is a capital-raising platform and advisory service operated by Stellar Ventures ("Stellar Ventures", "we", "us"). This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit capstack.live, create an account, list a startup, join as an investor, or work with our team.

Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details such as your name, email address, company, role and location.
- Company information you upload, including pitch decks, financial projections, cap tables, data room documents and readiness answers.
- Investor preferences, such as thesis, sectors, stages, cheque sizes and geographies.
- Messages, call notes and feedback you exchange with our team.
- Billing details, processed by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data such as pages viewed, features used and actions taken in the platform.
- Device and log data such as browser type, IP address and approximate location.
- Document activity, such as when a deck or data room file you shared is opened, so we can show you access logs.
How we use information
- To provide the platform, including investor matching, deck feedback, outreach tools, pipeline tracking and data room features.
- To share your startup profile and materials with investors, only where your plan and settings allow it.
- To run managed raises and advisory work you have engaged us for.
- To process payments, prevent fraud and keep the service secure.
- To send service messages and, where permitted, updates about Capstack. You can opt out of marketing at any time.
- To improve the product, including aggregated and de-identified analysis.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only in these situations:
- With investors you are matched with. Your profile and the materials you choose to share are made available to investors in the Capstack investor portal and bi-weekly matching updates. Sensitive materials, such as data room files, go only to investors you approve.
- With service providers who host, process payments, send email or provide analytics for us, under contracts that limit their use of the data.
- With partners you ask us to introduce you to, such as market entry or accelerator partners.
- For legal reasons, where required by law or to protect rights and safety.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, subject to this policy.
Confidentiality of founder materials
We treat pitch decks, financials and data room documents as confidential. We will sign a non-disclosure agreement on request before reviewing sensitive information. Access to shared documents can be logged so you can see who opened them and when.
Retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. You can ask us to delete your account and materials at any time, subject to those obligations.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, to withdraw consent, and to object to certain processing. You can export your pipeline and materials from the platform at any time. To make a request, email us at hello@stellarpartners.com. We may need to verify your identity first.
International transfers
We work with founders and investors in Canada, the United States and the GCC. Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, which may have different data protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Security
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the platform works.
Children
Capstack is intended for business use by adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in the platform.
